The study, Spectrum (2018) is an experiment of photographing the fluorescence of budgies under ultraviolet light, which reminds us of the limitations of our sight. We are only capable of perceiving a specific spectrum of the world, but there is a lot to see beyond this, and things might look entirely different in the eyes of others. Unlike humans, birds have tetrachromatic vision, which enables them to see colours in the UV spectrum. They use this ability in various ways, and, in fact, many of them, such as budgies, have UV reflexive feathers. Thus, when put under blacklight, these birds change their colour and seem to glow in the dark, as if they have been painted with fluorescent paint.
